Elastic Computing for Ecommerce
Client: Fashion Show Company, Chicago, IL
With tens of thousands of independent field representatives spread throughout the country, a long-term customer faced a unique problem: how to service these reps who submit thousands of complex orders hourly? Each order involves multiple customers, multiple levels of payouts, complex business rules, multiple credit transactions per show.
Interestingly, the sheer burst nature of their phenomenal traffic directly coincides with their weekly promotions. This enabled us to predict the traffic ahead of time in a very realistic manner.

Our challenge: build an on-demand custom ecommerce platform that scales up and down dynamically (on-demand) based on load.
